H&H Metals History of a Metal Fabrication Shop
From our humble beginnings, how we grew to become a premier metal fabrication facility
From our humble beginnings, how we grew to become a premier metal fabrication facility
In 1980 H&H Enterprises incorporated in the State of Colorado. At first the main business consisted of metal roofing and associated sheet metal trim. Utilizing fellow Volunteer Firefighters as helpers, Jim & Kathy landed their first job at Jolly Rancher Candy. After starting in their residential garage they leased a small warehouse / shop facility, while the office remained at Kathy & Jim’s home. Quickly the business outgrew this arrangement and required more space.
The business continued to flourish and they leased an office warehouse on North Broadway Street. New equipment such as an electric shear and hydraulic press brake meant increased capabilities. H&H not only did metal roofs, but a variety of other associated metal products. These other products include metal wall panels, pre-engineered metal buildings, composites, and column covers. Quickly, one rented unit became three overstuffed units, and Jim and Kathy began searching for a new H&H home.
In 1993, H&H Metals moved to Westminster, CO. They renovated a 13,000 s.f. facility with 8,000 s.f. of shop/warehouse space. H&H welcomed high school son Chad into the company part time in 1994, as he learned the trade. More shop floor space enabled H&H to carry out projects that were not previously possible. The business transformed from just a metal roofing & siding contractor to a full-functioning sheet metal fabrication shop. Chad graduated from Colorado State University in 2000 with a degree in Construction Management, and joined H&H full-time. After outgrowing the main building, H&H expanded into another 7,500 SF facility located across the street in 2000. This new building housed the ever growing product line of sheet metal flat stock. Exceptional growth over the next few years meant there was once again no room to expand.
In May 2008 H&H once again expanded into its current facility at 12520 Grant Drive #100 in Thornton, CO. This new 64,000 s.f. facility nearly tripled their floor space and streamlined operations. Now all aspects of H&H are under one roof again. Since then, H&H has purchased many new pieces of equipment. These include a CNC router, CNC press brakes, folding machine, sheet metal shears, as well as adding Laser Cutting capability. H&H Metals is a state of the art facility, and a leader in the sheet metal fabrication business.
